More from the Garden

Having worked a couple of weekends ago and then been on nights, I've not had much time or energy for the garden, and it's becoming a bit overgrown with weeds in my absence! I'm a bit under the weather at the moment so haven't had much energy so have only done a simple bit of weeding today, but am looking forward to having you visit next weekend so we can tackle some more major projects together! My main things I need to do are:

  • Make a wigwam and plant the bean seeds
  • Plant out the sweet peas
  • Mow the lawn
  • Plant out the summer bulbs
This is a fairly ambitious list and we can do as little or as much as you fancy! I'm also hoping if the weather permits we can go on a day trip and maybe see the sea!

Here are some photos from the garden today. Sadly I was too tired to get up early enough for the nice blue sky we had this morning, so they're a bit grey!

There's a huge wisteria plant growing against our wall, which has recently come out in flower and is looking awesome.

Another attempt by my phone at the self-professed "auto-awesome":

We have 3 apple trees in the garden which are all out in beautiful blossom at the moment.

The vegetable patch is coming along ok, but unfortunately is very weedy.

The poor onions...

The poor peas...

I'm finding it hard to weed around them without disturbing them. I'm a bit suspicious that my hoe is just rearranging the weeds rather than actually killing them...

The last of the Spring bulbs

Wild bluebells grow throughout the garden

The lawn is in serious need of cutting. It's full of dandelions which unfortunately are mostly at the "what's the time?" stage, so I suspect there will be many more in the weeks to come. They do look kinda pretty though!

One last thing, I almost forget - I suppose it's technically not from the garden...

My tomato plants are getting huge!

This kinda purple one has been outside 'hardening up' or more like wossing out about how cold it is... so I brought it indoors. It's already got flowers on it though! Maybe it thought the apocalypse was coming and it better reproduce quick... Anyway I think the lesson I have learnt here is that I was far to hasty in sewing my tomato seeds. But it's fun so who cares! The 2 I sewed at the correct time are looking really pale and lame so they're not really selling it that well.
